East Sussex sundial trail

This is one of a series of sundial lists designed to help visitors to find good and interesting sundials to see in areas unfamiliar to them. Follow the links for a list of our pages for other places in Britain, or for a complete list of all these pages, divided by country.

This list was compiled by Michael Lowne, author of Sundials of East Sussex published in late 1996 and now unfortunately out of print. This book has colour pictures of all the sundials listed here, with some notes on each dial, and a map of East Sussex, which is the country stretching from about 30 miles south of London down to the south coast of England.

The list below includes the National Grid reference, which will enable you to find the precise location on an Ordnance Survey map. There are pictures of three of the sundials for your enjoyment.
